Just an A, so its top bound only and does not have the pearl logo. It does have the Gibson label inside and, importantly, it has the adjustable truss rod. This lets you set the mandolin up for your local climate and allows you change it easily if needed. Keeps the neck straighter, too. Loar improvements to the mandolin such as the adjustable truss rod and adjustable bridge. Plays smoothly with excellent volume and tone. Where it counts, however all solid woods, carved spruce top, carved birch back and sides its the same mandolin as the higher grade versions. All hardware and finish is original. I think it was originally built as a A model with no logo, and at some point it was sent back to Gibson for work possibly frets, as the painted logo The Gibson is straight across the peghead like a late 2. It also looks like the entire instrument was oversprayed with the correct nitro lacquer at some point in the distant past, as there is checking on the back under the finish. However, that top finish has its own checking, so if it was oversprayed it was a long time ago. The hardware is original, endpin is replaced, and the tuners are the type used in 1. Just set up by my luthier Jerry Ray. Frets are fine and neck set is good. Its a strong sounding very loud mandolin in excellent condition, with beautiful tone. Plays easy with a nice low action.
